Do you feel stuck in that same old routine of living check to check? Does it seem like everyone else is living a life of pleasure and fun while you’re stuck at home trying to figure out how the bills will get paid on time? Do you often tell yourself that you’ll never get to do those things because that’s just how life is for you?
Well, you are not alone. For years, Life & Success Coaching, Dori Grassau fell into the trap of negative thinking. She would look at everyone’s Facebook and instantly feel a sense of jealousy and lack in her own life until she discovered the law of attraction. In this guest post, she will share her best tips on ways you can use the law of attraction to bring positive energy that helps you reach your financial goals.

Inviting the Law of Attraction
Over time I have started practicing something called the law of attraction. I read everything I could get my hands on about it. I listen to podcasts and talk to others who are like-minded about it as well. And I can honestly say it works. I’ve seen it in my own life.
The idea of the law of attraction is that whatever you focus on expands.
Similar to a magnet – like attracts like. So if we think our life will never improve, then that is the vibration or “energy” that we are sending out, and that is exactly what will come back to us. Honestly, I think of the law of attraction as God or the Holy Spirit knowing what is in my heart. Some people call it the universe, but for me, it’s God.
Have you ever started out your morning with dread for the day ahead? Then you break a nail while getting ready; you sit in a traffic jam on your way to work – and it just goes downhill from there? Before you know it, you’ve had a day from you know where.
There are five things that I started practicing in my life to just kinda test the waters. The key to using the law of attraction is that you have to do more than believe that it will work. You have to feel it as though it has already happened. That means you have to feel the gratefulness and feel the relief or the joy in what you desire as if you already have it. As I said earlier, it really works! And here’s how:
1. Wake up every morning with a state of gratitude.
Before even getting out of bed, think of 5 things you are grateful for. Make sure you say what you are grateful for and why. For example, be grateful for the money you have, no matter how small it is. Be grateful for the job you have that enables you to bring in the money. Also, be grateful for your needs that are being taken care of. The universe will always give you more of whatever it is you are grateful for. So feel grateful even if you are struggling. As the saying goes:
“A grateful heart sees many blessings.”

2. Always be open to receiving.
Sometimes opportunities are offered that we decline or push away without realizing that there could be a financial blessing in them. But we will never know because we are not open to new ideas or possibilities.
However, the law of attraction teaches you to realize and believe that the universe is always working in your favor. On top of that, there are no coincidences. So if you see a penny on the ground, always pick it up and say thank you. It’s just another sign that more money is coming your way.
3. Get clear on your “why.”
Write down why your goal is important to you. For instance, if you want to be debt-free, write down why. Because if you don’t gain clarity on the reason why then you will never gain the momentum to make those things happen. In other words, you won’t want them bad enough.
When you write down your goals, be very specific so that the law of attraction can kick in. So if you want to pay off all of your debt, don’t just write, “I want to be debt-free.” Write, “I want to pay off my Pier 1 credit card that has a $500 balance because it’s the smallest balance I have.”
Then, write out exactly how you are going to do it. Are you going to sell five hand-made paintings for $100 each? Are you going to take $100 from your next five checks and pay the card off that way? Be specific. The more specific you are, the more determined you will be because you have given yourself a plan!
Make sure your money is working for you. Cit Bank offers interests rates that are 7X the national average. Check it out and see what options are right for you.
4. Take inspired action using the law of attraction.
Now that you have your Why on paper and your goals written down, it’s time to take action on them. Start by putting those step-by-step plans in your calendar as you would with any other ‘to-do’ item. And as you start to accomplish each goal, you will feel more empowered to move on to the next thing.
5. Create a vision book that you carry everywhere.
Now, this doesn’t have to be anything fancy. It can be any kind of notebook, or it could be a pretty journal that makes you smile every time you look at it. The idea behind the law of attraction is to get your energy turning towards the positive.
The interesting thing is that something scientific occurs when we see a picture. Our brains carry the feeling it gives us for a longer time than just reading words. Start by cutting out pictures of the life you imagine and put them in your vision book.
To me, a debt-free life would include pictures of a lovely beach house in front of the ocean. Pictures of money. And pictures of a nice hot coffee at sunrise while sitting on my front porch. Do you get the picture, haha? The point is that the pictures can be anything that gives you the feeling of the life you want to be living.
You can even write quotes in the book that are encouraging. Or put pictures of loved ones or public figures that are living financially free as inspiration. In other words, include anything that gets you dreaming, believing, and taking action.
The Bottom line
You can do this! The universe is on your side.
We are meant to live financially free.
So let’s use the law of attraction to help us get there. Having money isn’t selfish. Think of it this way, the more we have, the more we can help others or give away. And that, my friends, is what it all comes down to. If you’d like to read more about living the life of your dreams, please subscribe to my blog at www.dorigrassau.com.

I like the idea of the vision book. This is great to start giving shape to your goals. Thanks!
It has been so helpful. Even more so than my board because I can bring it everywhere with me. I can make quick notes in it when I hear something that inspires me!
I like the book’s vision idea and being open to receiving. I will follow these ideas and tips. Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome! Yes, you will be amazed at what new things will come your way when you set your intention of being open. New ideas will present themselves and you start noticing instead of dismissing them like you would have before. It gets you “thinking outside the box.”
Such great points. Attitude and gratitude is everything. It is easy to get stuck on the hamster wheel of life without it.
Indeed. Couldn’t agree more!
Financial security leads to financial wellness! I love your point about starting with gratitude and focusing on what you have remaining open 🙂
I think gratitude is key. It’s hard to have bad days if you try to be in a constant state of gratitude.
Thank you for sharing, a read that made me happy and feel like I could indeed do this! Love the vision board idea and to focus on being open. I think you’re right that opening ourselves to reviving will have an impact on what we do and in turn get out of our guided actions. Great read and I hope I can apply this approach to improve my financial actions.
Baby steps! Just keep stacking little habits on top of each other. Once a habit becomes normal add another one. 💛
